Jai Benteau has been a dj in western Canada for over 20 years under the aliases J-Byrd, Bass Caravan and now Zephrÿm.
As co-founder of the wildly acclaimed Le Cirque de la Nuit production company, the enigmatic onstage theatrics of the Bass Caravan and The Roving Company of Curiosities swinging, circus show and the newly formed performance group Ethoterra, this creative mind is making some serious waves in the Canadian electronic scene. With performances at Shambhala Music Festival, KAMP Festival, Fozzyfest, Circle The Wagons and many others you can rest assured that his experience is only matched by his acute attention to detail and his flawless mixing across the multitude of genres within the electronic landscape.
“The Zephrÿm moniker is about pushing conscious awareness. The sounds are kmuch different than the hard hitting and infectious rhythms of Bass Caravan. Zephrÿm, although still rooted in bass music, is a more introspective journey into the experience a dj can create for an audience.”
Encompassing diverse sounds from across the globe with modern electronic fundamentals, Zephrÿm’s musical amplitude is nothing short of powerfully captivating. Stay tuned for new, original production releases dropping this spring!
Influences: CloZee, The Human Experience, Polish Ambassador, Huglife, Rising Appalachia, Dimond Saints, Saqi, Cello Joe and so many others.
